- 1. Follow what the Catholic Church teaches. It’s all laid out and not that difficult but you have to read it and follow it and live it and love it , it’s truth.
2. Read and study and meditate on and contemplate your Bible and Catechism of the Catholic Church.
3. Meet with a Catholic priest regularly and at least once a month where you can go to confession and receive ongoing spiritual direction. You must be obedient to what the priest says and offers.
4. You must be charitable in every sense – in your mind – in your words – your deeds and your actions and in your finances.
5. Totally participate and give of yourself fully in the Mass a minimum of once a week on Sundays and you need to build up to going more, eventually every day. Mass is NOT a spectator sport so you need to train to give totally of your body, mind and spirit during the Mass to the point of sweat!
6. God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit reign supreme, and are one , unified , creator and everything. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling by placing yourself in the Presence!
7. Get to know Jesus – who is God and the second person of the Trinity- who really lived, died, rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven and sent us the Holy Ghost. Get to know Mary, Jesus’ mother and who therefore is the mother of God. Get to know Joseph who God entrusted as the earthly father and caretaker of this Holy Family.
8. Surround yourself with other believers who believe and practice all of the above. Meet with and talk with and study with regularly and get to know the canonized saints of the Church. Read and study their lives.
9. Pray morning prayer and evening prayer every day from the Divine Office – Liturgy of Hours.
10. Minister to others in the name of Jesus.
11. Sex is for marriage. Live it. No explanations and no excuses. You were born to not only get yourself to heaven with Jesus but others. Husbands and wives your sole purpose in your marriage vocation is to get each other to heaven with Jesus and if you are blessed to have children you are to help them get to heaven not to help them live this life in luxury.
12. No picking and choosing what you will practice and what you won’t as to what the Church teaches. Read it all and study it all and live it with God’s help and others help.
13. Pray the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine of Divine Mercy daily and preferably with others.
14. Prayerful Fasting and make sacrifices in honor of our Lord and for others.
15. Eucharistic Adoration often and strive to make it daily committing to a continuous holy hour a week.
16. Our Lord created everything including 24 hours in a day so we owe him 2.4 hours every day in intense communication with Him. This is truly tithing.
17. Give of your time and talent and treasure and give until it hurts.
18. Talk to a homeless person. Get his or her name and pray with him or her.
19. Protect life and all of God’s creation with all your might from the very first moment of natural conception until the very last moment of natural death and everywhere in between.
20. We are Catholic and the most holy Eucharist is the center of the universe! Adore Him! Hope in Him! Believe in Him! Love Him!
