PATH: Post-Abortion Treatment and Healing Ministry

PATH:  Post-Abortion Treatment and Healing Ministry

Who we are and what we do

As the ripple effect of abortion grows, so does the need for healing.  In 1987, a post abortion healing ministry began in Atlanta.  This non-profit ministry is called PATH, “Post Abortion Treatment and Healing.”   PATH was started by two women, one a pastoral minister, and the other one a parishioner of a Catholic Church with a social work degree.  It became apparent to these two women that abortion is a spiritual wound, and a spiritual approach is necessary for anyone wounded emotionally or spiritually from an abortion experience.  They began with informal support groups, which then evolved into small group Bible Studies.  In August of 2000, PATH offered its first Rachel’s Vineyard weekend retreat.  The retreat compliments the small group bible study very well, yet offers a different but very moving approach called “living scriptures,” whereby the bible is brought to life, emphasizing Christ’s enormous love and mercy.  Through the programs offered by PATH, one can learn to accept God’s love, forgiveness, and mercy to forgive themselves and others that might have played a part in this decision.  PATH works to bring hope to the broken hearted.  All is done in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting.  PATH serves individuals of any Christian faith, even though the vast majority are Catholic.  PATH volunteers also offer educational presentations to help the community understand the symptoms that can occur following this experience, so that those who need help can find it.

Currently, PATH has over 30 trained volunteers who help facilitate bible studies and retreats.  Most of PATH’s volunteers have been through the program themselves and are the perfect embodiment of the “wounded healer.”  For many, life after this decision is never the same.  Symptoms of regret, guilt, shame, depression, anxiety, alcohol or drug abuse, spiritual emptiness, and more are often connected with this experience.  Unfortunately, millions of men and women suffer in silence from the pain of a decision they might have made recently or have been carrying around for years.

No matter how recent or how long ago this decision was made… If you or someone you know says they are fine and don’t want to revisit this decision, please let us encourage you to reach out to us, we know what they are going through.  Please visit us at www.healingafterabortion.org.  Click on the video entitled “Darkest Before the Dawn:  Finding Healing& Forgiveness” which encompasses the devastation of the abortion experience and portrays so eloquently finding God’s healing and forgiveness.

Jesus is waiting with open arms for you, the Prodigal son or daughter, to come to him for forgiveness, mercy and healing.  May we all pray for an end to abortion and pray for all those who are suffering to receive the healing and mercy they need.  Please call 404-717-5557 for more information.

God Bless,

Ode to My Lord Jesus

Ode to My Lord Jesus

You are my Lord and my King

-my everything,

My beginning, my end,

and my very best friend.

You are Lord of my life

who frees me from strife,

And your graces, so rife,

lead to Eternal Life.

And though there is pain,

as I carry the cross,

I must not complain

‘cause You are my Boss.

So whatever you say

Lord, I will do.

‘Cause you are the Way

and I Trust in You!

Yes, You are the Way

and I Love You!

Oremus Communications March 2017 Newsletter

                                           OREMUS COMMUNICATIONS MARCH 2017 NEWSLETTER
Greetings everyone!  Well, Lent begins on  Ash Wednesday, March 1, and as we know is a time of penance, sacrifice, and almsgiving.  Yet, we also know that there is a wonderful ending to the Lenten Season when we celebrate with great joy the Paschal Mysteries including the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday.  In addition, there are some other significant dates that are worthy of note, and one in particular, especially if you are Irish, is the Feast Day of St. Patrick on Friday, March 17. We will have some special prayers for St. Patrick to be sure.
Another important date, also, occurring in the middle of Lent is the Feast Day of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  This year, instead of celebrating on the 19th of March as is the usual custom, because it falls on Sunday, we will be honoring St. Joseph on the next day, Monday, the 20th which, also, is the 1st day of Spring! Oremus Communications has a great devotion to St. Joseph and accordingly on that date, we have made arrangements with Fr. Leonard Lewandowski A. M. Div., Pastor of St. Titus Parish in East Norriton, Pa. to be the guest Co-Host for the Oremus Communications Family Rosary Program (OCFRP).
Fr. Leonard has been a long time radio celebrity in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, leading many religious events in honor of Our Blessed Mother.  For instance, Fr. “Leonard” has been a long time prayer partner of Our Lady of Fatima and is looking forward to talking with us about her and St. Joseph, and what they mean to us here and now.  (For scheduling details, etc. please see the bottom footnote).  This will be the first time at OCFRP for  Fr. “Leonard”.  So please join us if you can  in giving him a big welcome on Monday, the 20th!
Preceding Fr. Leonard’s visit, Mr. Carl Malburg, Guardian of the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima will join us once again on Tuesday, March 14th for more inspiring and informative conversation about Our Lady of Fatima.  As you know, we will be officially celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13th of this year,  and we look forward to learning more about the Fatima Message before the big event, about which “Carl” is so knowledgeable.
On Friday, March 31, Mr. Charles DeFeo, OP our long time guest Co-Host will be returning from Florida in time to share  some Lenten reflections and insights about the Early Church Fathers. A must program!
{For details re: the above schedule of events and more, please log onto our website:   oremuscomms.com   and click onto our home page where you can find listed a variety of topics on the left hand side under the “Menu” title.}  Thank you.
