Exaltation Of The Holy Cross

On September 14, every year, we celebrate and honor as Church – The Exaltation of The Holy Cross – to me this speaks in many forms. The grade school I attended was named Holy Cross; so I spent eight years of my early life going to Holy Cross every day during the school year. Our Lord Jesus tells us in Scripture – unless you pick up your cross, daily, and follow me you cannot be my disciple. Every king sits on a throne and our Lord Jesus chose the Cross, at Calvary, as His throne. Only a conquering king sits on a throne and our Lord Jesus conquered on a Cross; He even said when the Son of man is lifed up…and again, just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert (which was the way to salvation for the ancient Israelites) so will the Son of man be lifted up (which is the way to salvation in 33 AD and now for all time!).

A dear friend of mine is on a pilgrimage right now as I write this piece in Medjugorje and sent this to me so I in turm share it with you as it’s breathtaking and comes from Medjugorje.

Embrace and enter into the journey and the cross; your journey and your cross by reading, praying, meditating on and contemplating this version of The Stations of The Cross, and be blessed!
