Announcing the 18th Annual Ken DeFeo Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser. This fund was established by Kenny’s friends to help support and sustain Catholic education and offer assistance to those in need of financial assistance to continue a high school education in The Augustinian tradition. Scholarships are awarded to young men who attend Bonner/Prendie High School. These young men have to maintain a certain GPA and conduct score and be recommended by coaches and administration.
Kenneth DeFeo was a 1978 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School. Ken passed from this life to the next suddenly from a heart attack on December 28, 1997. He was inducted posthumously into Monsignor Bonner High School Hall of Fame in 2006 and The Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame’s Delaware County Chapter in 2009.
This Fund has helped numerous families over close to 20 years and was part of the solution to help keep the doors open of this high school when it was scheduled for closure.
All the proceeds for this fund come from generous benefactors who are friends, family and people of good will. Without the generosity of so many good people the fund would not exist.
Please help us through your continued generosity, to help more. The Fund is for a great cause and carries on the legacy of a special man; Ken DeFeo, husband, father, son, brother, friend, teammate and follower of Jesus Christ!
Kenny was a two-time first team All Catholic selection, first team All Delco and HM all state in football while at Bonner. he was also captain of both Football and Baseball teams, and honor student, member of student council and was named The John Cappelletti award winner during his senior year. He also was named team captain and MVP of his college football team, Memphis State University, and went into management in the trucking industry working for Roadway and Consolidated Freightways.
I think Sister Agnes, who taught Kenny while at Bonner said it best: “Kenny DeFeo had goodness written all over his face”.

Ken’s memory lives on through his cousins and family in Minnesota. Growing up 1300 miles away from our cousins made the time less frequent but the moments impactful. In addition to all the wonderful memories I have of Ken from playing basketball, being a bridesmaid his wedding, spending time talking at family dinners, making us laugh and many more – during our time he always made us feel special. Ken was patient and kind. He is loved by so many people. We all feel blessed to have had him in our lives. Thank you to Chas in his tireless efforts, Ken’s brother, in keeping the Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser progressing every year.
