A Plenary Indulgence Granted By Our Holy Father, Pope Francis for Those Participating In The 2018 March For Life -Praise Jesus, Our Lord, King, Everything!!! The Author Of LIFE!

PLENARY INDULGENCE
FOR THOSE PARTICIPATING
IN THE 2018 MARCH FOR LIFE
The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has made available a Plenary Indulgence to those
who participate in the events surrounding the March for Life on the 18th and 19th of January,
2018, in the Diocese of Arlington and the Archdiocese of Washington.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church describes an Indulgence in this way (article
1471):
An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has
already been forgiven, which the faithful Christian who is duly disposed gains under certain
prescribed conditions through the action of the Church which, as the minister of redemption,
dispenses and applies with authority the treasury of the satisfactions of Christ and the saints. An
indulgence is partial or plenary according as it removes either part or all of the temporal
punishment due to sin. Indulgences may be applied to the living or the dead.
This Plenary Indulgence may be obtained by participating in the events of the 2018
March for Life and by fulfilling the usual three conditions: sacramental Confession, the
reception of Holy Communion and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father. Those
who would like to obtain the gift of the Indulgence should be truly penitential and,
motivated by charity, can apply it to the souls in Purgatory.
The aged, the sick and those who truly cannot leave home to participate in the 2018
March for Life can also obtain the Plenary Indulgence. In this case, it is also necessary to be
detached from any kind of sin with the intention of fulfilling the three conditions as soon
as possible. Also, it is necessary to be spiritually united to the events of the 2018 March
for Life and make an offering of any infirmity to Almighty God.
