OREMUS COMMUNICATIONS JULY 2019 NEWSLETTER

Hello everyone. Like other months, there are a number of religious developments which took place in the month of
June.

One such event was the “Religious Freedom Awareness Week” on June 22-29, 2019, sponsored by the US
Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

In some parts of the world, freedom of religion is almost taken for granted, but
not so in other parts of the world such as regions in the Middle East, areas in Africa, and so on.

In these populations,
Christians, are persecuted by imprisonment, torture, intimidation and even death.

These people live in great fear of
bombings and violent attacks, and yet they remain stead fast to the tenets of our faith.

This is nothing new; examples abound throughout history when persecution of religious beliefs was the norm.

From
the days of the Roman Empire, the Reformation, and Totalitarian dictatorships of the 20th century, we find evidence of
Saints who were martyred for their faith.

For example, on June 22, the Feast Day of St. Thomas More and St. John Fisher, two saints who were martyred by

King Henry VIII sacrificed their wealth, power and prestige and finally their lives rather then submit to the despotic rule
of King Henry VIII back in the 16th century. Their feast day marked the beginning of the “Religious Freedom Awareness
Week.”

The rest of the week featured and will feature other saints who were important to the religious awareness week
including Sts. Peter and Paul on Saturday, June 29.

Carl Malburg prayed with us and talked with us on June 13 about St. Anthony of Padua and his connection to the
Fatima Message.

On June 19, the Legion of Mary Praesidium in Hockessin, DE presented another
of their meetings for the Patrician Program. The topic was about the mass and it’s
components and the discussion was excellent! The Patricians meet every third
Wednesday of the month; while their Legion Radio Program featuring the Divine
Mercy Chaplet is on every Friday at 3 pm EST.

On Thursday, June 20, Mr. Mark Houck, President of the King’s Men was a
special guest on the OCFRP, and spoke about the wonderful programs the King’s
Men are doing on behalf of Christian men.

On June 27, the Feast of the Ukrainian Martyrs was observed. They were raised
to the status of “Blessed” by Saint John Paul II in 2001. Among these were Blessed
Nicholas Konrad, grandfather of our own Dr. George Isajiw.

On Friday, June 28, Mr. John Williamson, Esq host of the Pro-Life
America Radio which is heard every Thursday night at 7pm here on Oremus
Communication, (http://oremuscomms.com/) will be our special guest on
the Oremus Communications Family Rosary Program (OCFRP). He will talk
about his Pro Life Ministry and his constant efforts to heighten awareness
to the Body Politic of the evils of abortion, infanticide and other
components of the Culture of Death.

On July 16, Carl Malburg, leader of the International Pilgrim Virgin
Statue of Our Lady of Fatima Foundation, will join us for the Feast of Our
Lady of Mt. Carmel . Carl will talk about the fourth apparition of Our Lady
of Fatima on July 16, 1917.

Charlie DeFeo, Catholic Author and Blogger will be on Oremus on July 23 to join us in praying the Rosary and discuss Catholic Men’s Spirituality in the modern world.
We hope you that you can join us and pray with us in July as we continue striving to make a spiritual difference!
