Greetings everyone.  It seems like yesterday when we wrote the July newsletter in early in the month, and spoke of many events to take place.   Well, many events did take place, and much more is going to happen in the month of August.  So let’s get started.

At the very end of June, on the 28th, Mr. John Williamson, Esq host of Pro-Life America Radio, which is heard every Thursday night at 7pm EST here on Oremus Communication, was our special guest on the Oremus Communications Family Rosary Program (OCFRP). He talked about his long and distinguish career in defense of life.  Many years ago, John began as a Pro-Life attorney in Delaware County, PA defending Pro-Life activists in the Southeast region of Pennsylvania.  Many a Pro-Lifer owes his or her freedom to John’s brilliant defense and tireless efforts in combating the forces of the Culture of Death.

In spite of the tragic loss of his son, John’s devotion to the Pro-Life cause only intensified.  Along with his pro-bono legal activities, John established “Johnny’s Run,” a running event for life through the streets of Delaware County as a tribute to his son, with all proceeds going to local Pro-Life organizations such as those helping mothers in need.  John was at his best during the interview and his insightful comments definitely warrant your attention.  Please see the archive program on our website.

On Tuesday, July 16, Carl Malburg, leader of the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima Foundation, participated in the OCFRP by comparing the message of Our Lady of Fatima with the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.  Carl will once again be our guest on Thursday, August 15, 2019, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  All of this, coming one day after the celebration of the feast day of our mentor St. Maximilian Kolbe, Priest and martyr.

From July 14 to July 20, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) sponsored once again their annual “Natural Family Planning Awareness Week.”  Judging from the reaction of many congregants and the study of related demographics, it is evident that the emphasis on natural family planning throughout the years by USCCB and related parishes has been paying off, with more and more Catholics being informed and comfortable with the practice of Natural Family Planning.

The Legion of Mary Praesidium in Hockessin, DE featured another one of their Patrician Programs; emphasizing the importance of the avoidance of self pity in our lives.  As always, these meetings are well planned and thought out, and present  an excellent opportunity to refresh our memories about basic Catholic values and beliefs.

HLI training in NFP in Kitwe, South Africa, 2019. HLI teaches participants in NFP year round.

On Thursday, August 22, Debra Piroch, Communications Director of Human Life International (HLI) will be our guest on OCFRP to bring us up to date on the latest Pro-Life activities and events taking place here and abroad, especially on the continent of Africa.

On Friday, August 9, our good friend, Father Peter Welsh, Parochial Vicar of the Parish of St. Helena in North Philadelphia, will talk about the similarities of the life and times of Saint Theresa Benedicta of the Cross and Father Maximilian Kolbe; as well as his activities in the Legion of Mary Spanish Curia, HLI and many other related organizations.

The noted author and religious missionary, Charles DeFeo, will be calling in from our sister location in Fort Myers, FL on August 23 about the spectacular Family Faith Day conference to be held in Leroy, New York.
